Getting Started

To begin, simply create an account by clicking the button below. Since the site is in beta, we’re offering free accounts while we work out the bugs. Sign up, start tracking your rides, and enjoy the site! If you’re finding value in Cycling Beats and want to support its development, you can make a donation here.

Record your first ride

Start recording you ride by clicking on the button in the upper right corner of the navigation bar or the Add/Import Ride button in the sidebar of the Feed page

There are two options for recording your rides:

  • Manually enter your ride details.
    The required fields are ride name, start time, distance, and duration. Optionally, you can also provide elevation gained and calories burned. Choose 'Manually Enter a Ride', fill out the form, and then submit it.
  • Import an existing file (.gpx or .fit)
    Import a ride from an existing service by uploading a .fit or .gpx file. Select 'Import Ride from File' and follow the instructions.

Build your Showcase

Creating your personalized showcase is easy, and you’ll have something to start with! As a new user, you’ll begin with a new user trophy, and after recording your first ride, you’ll earn another trophy to display. Follow these steps to build and customize your showcase:

  1. Open the Showcase Page: From the navigation bar, navigate to the Showcase page, or simply click the button below.
  2. Switch to Edit Mode: Once on the page, switch to edit mode to begin customizing your showcase.
  3. Edit the Grid: You’ll see a 12x12 grid representing your showcase. Select the edit button () in any empty cell, which will open the Edit Showcase Sidebar. From there, you can add trophies, badges, streaks, rides, and more.
  4. Update Existing Cells: To adjust items already placed in your showcase, select the edit button () in any occupied cell, which will open the Edit Showcase Sidebar. You can then update settings like size and placement.

That’s it! You’ve now built and customized your showcase. Continue to refine and update it as you earn more achievements.

Navigating the Community Page

The Community Page allows you to discover new users, manage who you follow, and see who is following you. Here’s how to navigate it:

  1. Open the Community Page: From the navbar, navigate to the Community page, or simply click the button below.
  2. Choose an Option in the Sidebar:
    • Discover: This section helps you find other users whose Showcases you can view. From here, you can view a user's Showcase and choose to follow them.
    • Following: This section allows you to quickly view the Showcases of users you are following. You can also manage your follow list here.
    • Followers: In this section, you can see who is following you, view their Showcases, and manage your followers.
